'Cash Cab' Looks For Syndication Fare

Cash Cab is looking for a little green in the syndication market.
MGM Domestic Television is bringing the Emmy award-winning Discovery Channel quiz show to the U.S. broadcast syndication for fall 2010.
"Cash Cab is an addictive game show with a built-in fan base and a proven track record, making it an ideal choice for broadcasters," said John Bryan, executive vice president, broadcast strategy, MGM, in a statement. "We're very excited to be bringing Cash Cab to U.S. syndication."
Noted Discovery Channel COO, EVP Tom Cosgrove: "Cash Cab combines the fast-pace of a game show with knowledge and entertainment which are core attributes of Discovery content. We look forward to teaming with MGM, building awareness for one of our highly popular series and attracting a wider audience for Cash Cab in the syndication marketplace."
On Cash Cab, Ben Bailey, the comic who has received three Emmy nods for best game show host on the series, sits behind the wheel of a New York City taxi, where unsuspecting passengers suddenly find themselves on camera in the hot seat being quizzed all the way to their destination. As the meter ticks away, the questions get harder and the cash stakes get higher. However, those who miss three questions get kicked to the curb.
