Cayman Systems Offers HomeRF Gateways

Bellerica, Mass.-Cayman Systems Inc. said it has launched a line of broadband gateways certified by the HomeRF Working Group, ensuring that the company's digital-subscriber-line, cable and fixed-wireless equipment can share bandwidth via wireless connections that use the HomeRF networking standard.

The HomeRF certification also accounts for "simple.plug-and-play" installation procedures, which is critical to expediting the adoption rate of broadband services nationwide, Cayman said.

"The use of unified communication standards like HomeRF makes it extremely easy for customers to expand their local-area networks of Internet devices and not have to worry about compatibility among multiple devices," Comcast Corp. vice president of new-media development Steve Craddock said in a press release.
