CBS Sports and CSTV will kick off the college-football season Sunday at noon (EST) with the broadcast network’s half-hour special 2006 SEC Football Preview Show.
Hosted by CSTV’s Greg Amsinger, the program will preview the Southeastern Conference’s Eastern and Western divisions, analyze the coaches’ preseason all-SEC selections and provide scouting reports and other SEC news. Contributors include CBS Sports college-football analyst Gary Danielson, CSTV football analyst Brian Jones and CSTV insider Brian Curtis.
The special will also feature interviews with Urban Myer, head coach of the University of Florida, and Steve Spurrier, head coach at South Carolina, as well as an introspective on the relationship between Kenny and David Irons, brothers at the University of Auburn and preseason first-team all-SEC picks. And CSTV national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming will discuss freshmen players to watch this year.
The show will be produced by CSTV’s Stefan Van Engen.
CSTV Networks, co-founded by Brian Bedol and Chris Bevilacqua in April 2003, was acquired by CBS in November 2005.
This year marks CBS Sports’ sixth year of SEC coverage. Season coverage begins Saturday, Sept. 16 with a doubleheader: LSU vs. Auburn at 3:30 p.m. and Florida vs. Tennessee at 8 p.m.
