CBS Sports Net to Kick Off Four-Hour NFL Pregame Show

'That Other Pregame Show' Debuts Sept. 8

New York -- Come the kickoff of the NFL season, CBS Sports Network is going to be wishing TOPS of the morning to football fans on Sundays.

The national cable network will debut That Other Pregame Show (TOPS) on Sept. 8 at 9 a.m. The four-hour pregame will run up until the first game window on Sundays, with the final hour overlapping with CBS’s The NFL Today. The announcement was made at CBS’s NFL Media Day at the broadcaster’s headquarters here by CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus and CBS Sports President Dave Berson.

Hosted by Adam Schein, That Other Pregame Show will be informational in format, focusing on the headlines and hot-button issues surrounding the NFL’s slate of games, as well as a recap of the best of the action on Saturday’s college gridiron.

Schein, who leads CBS Sports Network’s NFL Monday Quarterback, which begins its sophomore season on Sept. 9 at 5 p.m., will be joined by CBS Sports Radio’s Brandon Tierney; Allie LaForce from the cable network’s Lead Off; longtime Oakland Raiders executive Amy Trask; former NFL linebacker Bart Scott; and fantasy analyst Nathan Zegura. The final hour of the show will have a fantasy focus, while CBS’ long-running pregame is on the air.

Talent from The NFL Today –  Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason, Shannon Sharpe and Bill Cowher, as well as host James Brown and Insider Jason La Canfora – will contribute regularly to TOPS, which McManus said will be televised from an adjoining studio at the CBS Broadcast Center in Manhattan.

CBS Sports’ NFL on CBS announcers -- including Phil Simms, Dan Fouts, Dan Dierdorf, Rich Gannon, Solomon Wilcots, Steve Tasker and Steve Beuerlein -- will appear regularly with previews/updates from game sites

Shawn Robbins and Andrew Finger will produce TOPS.
