CBS Tops Sports Emmy Wins

CBS was the big winner at last night’s Sports Emmys ceremony, garnering the most statuettes among video distributors, according to the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences.

CBS won eight Sports Emmy Awards, topping Fox’s six and ESPN’s five wins, according to NATAS. Fox Sports 1, MLB Network, ESPN2 and HBO also won multiple statuettes during the evening ceremony in New York.

The ESPN Group (including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, ESPNews, WatchESPN and ABC) took home 10 Sports Emmys, the most of any network group, according to NATAS.

CBS’ The 118th Army-Navy Game won the Emmy for Outstanding Live Sports Special, while NBC’s Sunday Night Football scored the Emmy for Outstanding Live Sports Series.
