CBSSports.com To Stream SEC Basketball Action

CBS Sports will tip off a 12-game package of streamed Southeastern Conference men’s basketball games this Saturday.

The schedule, mirroring the broadcast network’s coverage of SEC hoops, begins on CBSSports.com at 4 p.m. (ET) Dec. 13 with the Indiana at Kentucky match-up and culminates with the conference championship game from the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa on March 15 at 1 p.m.

CBS Sports.com, according to a spokesman, is currently pursuing a presenting sponsor for its streamed SEC hoops action, which will include commercials from the broadcast network's telecasts.

The games, offered in 16-by-9 widescreen format, can also be accessed through a link on the Web sites of all CBS affiliates. In addition to its live video, CBSSports.com will have on-demand highlights and recaps for all games.

The digital basketball action follows CBSSports.com's delivery of 17 of the conference football games this fall, culminating with the SEC championship game in which Florida defeated Alabama 31-20 to claim a spot in the Jan. 8 Bowl Championship Series title tilt versus Oklahoma. AT&T was the presenting sponsor of the streaming SEC football this season

At the conclusion of the 2008-09 SEC college basketball schedule, CBSSports.com will once again offer its Emmy award-winning March Madness on Demand, live streaming video of the NCAA Division I Men's basketball championship. In 2008, for the first time, the CBSSports.com production of March Madness on Demand showed all 63 tourney contests.

In August, CBS Sports and the SEC reached a 15-year contract extension to broadcast its football and basketball games beginning with the 2009-10 season. In addition to broadcast rights, the new deal includes digital, Internet, wireless, video-on-demand and enhanced highlight rights across all CBS Sports properties, including CBS College Sports Network.
