The California Cable Television Association will officially change its name
on the first day of the Western Show in Anaheim, Calif.
After Nov. 28, the industry's largest state trade association will be known
as the California Cable & Telecommunications Association.
'Changing our name simply reflects the reality that the cable industry in
California provides much more than just video entertainment services,' CCTA
president Spencer Kaitz said in a prepared statement.
The National Cable & Telecommunications Association changed its name from
the National Cable Television Association for similar reasons.
The CCTA's membership includes 200 cable systems serving 6.5 million
