CCTA to Lay Off Fadelli

In a continuing effort to reduce overhead, the California Cable
Telecommunications Association has again cut staff, this time laying off
director of public affairs Paul Fadelli.

Fadelli, who has been with the lobbying group for four years, will remain on
staff until March 15.

The CCTA is still trying to recover from losses it suffered due to its poorly
attended 2001 Western Show.

The trade meeting accounts for 70 percent of the association's annual budget,
so the 48 percent decline in attendance has put the group in a financial
vise.

The CCTA must achieve profitability with the scaled-down 2002 show, according
to directives issued by the executive committee, which met earlier this
month.
