CEA, Comcast Team Up on HDTV Video

The Consumer Electronics Association and Comcast Corp.’s Comcast Media Center want to educate consumers about HDTV.

The CEA and CMC teamed up to present a consumer-oriented video about HDTV at the 2004 International Consumer Electronics Show, being held in Las Vegas through Sunday.

The video is based on the CEA’s print brochure, "A Consumer’s Guide to the Wonderful World of HDTV."

It is hosted by Suzanne Kantra, technology editor for Popular Science and a member of the 2004 International CES advisory committee, and Jim Barry, the CEA’s media spokesman, who has been leading its HDTV Updates in local markets nationwide.

The video guides consumers through eight segments, including, "What Is HDTV?," "How Do I Receive It?," "Digital-Cable-Ready HDTV" and "Digital-TV Shopping Guide." It also includes Internet resources providing further information for consumers.
