CEA Decries Hollywood Control

The Consumer Electronics Association said Friday that recent Federal
Communications Commission filings by the Motion Picture Association of America
and the National Cable & Telecommunications Association seek to give the
cable industry too much control of Americans' viewing and recording habits.

The CEA said the MPAA's support of selectable output-control capability on
cable set-top boxes contradicts public testimony given by Hollywood studio
executives earlier this year.
