Voice-over-Internet-protocol technology provider Cedar Point Communications hired engineering veteran John O’Hara as executive vice president of engineering.
Most recently a product- and engineering-strategy consultant with sentitO Networks, O’Hara, will be responsible for driving the development of increased technological capabilities for Cedar Point’s Safari C³ Multimedia Switching System within current and future markets.
“In a rapidly changing communications environment, it is important that we maintain our leadership role by increasing the ability of Safari C³ to meet future needs of cable, telecommunications and enterprise network operators,” said Andy Paff, CEO of the Derry, N.H.-based company. “In concert with our customers, John O’Hara will work with our engineering staff to translate the needs of customers and prospects in current and future markets into higher-density, feature-rich versions of Safari.”
O’Hara has served in senior-level engineering positions at startups and established companies including Colubris Networks, WaveSmith Networks, New Oak Communications, FTP Software, DEC and Wang Labs.
