CEQUEL III, the telecommunications-investment and management firm headed by
former Charter Communications Inc. CEO Jerry Kent, completed its acquisition of
27,000 subscribers in the Houston area from Shaw Communications Inc. for about
$85 million.

CEQUEL and Shaw announced the agreement in February. According to the deal,
Kent’s company acquires systems in Kingwood, Lake Conroe and Lake Livingston,
Texas. CEQUEL expects to take over management and operation of the systems July
1.

"We are very excited to assume management of these state-of-the-art systems,"
CEQUEL senior vice president of operations William Shreffler said in a prepared
statement. "Our team has a strong and consistent track record of superior
customer service, and we will continue to do whatever it takes to provide great
service and great programming at a great value."

The deal boosts the number of subscribers owned or under management by CEQUEL
to about 350,000.

In February, the company announced a deal to manage Classic Communications
Inc.’s 325,000 subscribers in Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas,
Louisiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Colorado and Ohio.
