Charter Communications Inc. added eight channels of Spanish-language programming to its “Charter Latino Digital” package in select markets.
The MSO reached a distribution agreement with Mexico City-based programmer Alterna’TV for channels with fare including news, sports, arts and entertainment.
Additional Alterna’TV programming -- the company’s library of movies, premium-channel shows, sports, music and additional Spanish language programs -- will be available on the “Charter OnDemand” platform as part of the pact.
“Alterna’TV’s programming is comprised of leading channels in Mexico, South America and the Caribbean,” Charter director of marketing, core video Tim Kelly said in a prepared statement. “These channels will be instantly recognized by Hispanic communities that live in the United States.”
