Charter Bolsters On-Demand Roster With Disney Fare

Charter Communications has added a bevy of programming from The Walt Disney Co. suite of networks, including matches from the 2010 FIFA World Cup, to its free on-demand platform.
The cable operator recently began offering episodes of top shows from s from ABC, ABC Family, Disney Channel, Disney XD, ESPN and SoapNet. The content is available is the day after it premieres on the aforementioned services.
Deal terms were not disclosed.
The new on demand programming includes standard and high-definition versions of popular ABC fare, as well as standard-definition content from the cable networks, adding to the more 6,500 movies and shows Charter already proffers on the platform.
"With this addition to Charter's ever-expanding On Demand library, digital customers can access movies and favorite cable and broadcast shows anytime they choose," said Rich DiGeronimo, Vice President of Product Management for Charter, in a statement. "With FIFA World Cup matches on demand, our customers won't have to worry about missing any of the action. The convenience and ease of programming available on Charter On Demand is valuable to our customers in their busy lives."
