Charter Communications said Tuesday that it has completed a swap of systems in Georgia and Alabama with James Cable.
The agreement, first announced in July, involves about 13,000 subscribers. Charter agreed to trade its Douglas, Georgia system, with about 5,200 customers, for James operations surrounding Eatonton, Georgia and Roanoke and Gu-Win, Alabama, with about 8,300 subscribers.
"Our primary focus is providing value to our customers and enhancing their experience with Charter. This acquisition is aligned with our strategy of enhancing and growing core system clusters to enable operational synergies," said Charter President, Operations Steven Apodaca in a statement. "Charter has served customers in Alabama and Georgia for many years and our newest customers join more than a half million Charter customers in the company's Alabama and Georgia markets."
James Cable, which operates many of its systems under the CommuniCom name, passes about 133,000 homes in rural parts of Louisiana, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Wyoming.
