Charter Communications Inc. has deployed Kasenna Inc. “MediaBase XMP” video-on-demand servers at its systems in Eau Claire, Wis., and Rochester and St. Cloud, Minn.
The MSO has already been using MediaBase XMP servers in Madison, Fond du Lac and Janesville, Wis.
“As we continue to expand our video-on-demand offering, we have found that it is both feasible and more cost-effective to implement solutions based on open standards,” Charter vice president of engineering, digital video Pragash Pillai said in a prepared statement.
“With Kasenna servers, Charter can reduce the complexity of building and integrating proprietary systems,” he added. “Their servers also offer the kind of scalability and interoperability across a broad portion of our networks that our operations demand.”
