Charter Faces Another Class-Action Suit

The office of attorney Marc S. Henzel is the latest firm to file a
class-action suit against Charter, alleging that the company disseminated
materially false and misleading statements about its revenue and that it
inflated its basic-sub count.

At least nine firms have filed suits against Charter in the last few weeks,
including Bernstein Liebhard & Lifshitz, Milberg Weiss; Rabin & Peckel;
Schiffrin & Barroway; Kirby McInerney & Squire; and Glancy &
Binkow.

Charter, which has taken some heat for counting subs that take only
high-speed data as basic-cable customers, has maintained that its financial
statements comply with generally accepted accounting
principles.
