Charter Communications Inc. Tuesday announced a multiyear deal to add Sorpresa! to its “Charter Latino” tier.
The Hispanic children’s network will begin launching in targeted Charter markets throughout the next few months, the two parties said.
Sorpresa! targets six- to 14-year-olds, and the network also features morning and afternoon programs that are popular with pre-schoolers and evening programs that reach older teens. Its shows come from children's producers around the globe, including Mexico, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Spain and Chile.
Sorpresa! is owned and managed by Firestone Communications Inc.
"We're very pleased to be adding Sorpresa! to our Charter Latino lineup," Charter director of core video Tim Kelly said in a prepared statement. "We're committed to offering quality in-language Latino programming in markets where we have a good concentration of Spanish-speaking customers. Sorpresa! is an excellent addition to the package we've been assembling."
