Charter Communications announced the appointment of Justin Venech, previously the vice president, public relations at Time Warner Cable, to the post of vice president, communications.

Venech, who will start October 21, will be reunited with Alex Dudley, another former TWC exec who joined Charter in mid-March as senior vice president, communications and public affairs.

Venech, reporting to Dudley, will oversee communications and media relations for Charter’s financial, government affairs and business services teams. Before joining TWC in 2003, Venech was in media relations at Rainbow Media Holdings (now AMC Networks).

Venech, who lives in  Fairfield, Conn., with his wife and three children, is a member of the Association of Cable Communicators (ACC), the Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), and the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE). Venech graduated from Sacred Heart University with a BA in media studies in 1998 and an MBA in marketing in 2000.

"Justin is a proven leader who brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise in developing and executing high-impact, strategic communications," Dudley said, in a statement. "He will be a valuable contributor and resource to our department and to Charter."
