Charter Hires New D.C. Lobbyist

Charter Communications Inc. has hired Megan Delany as its new Washington, D.C., lobbyist, filling a position that has been vacant since late 2003, according to two sources.

Delany, an attorney who started Monday, has worked on Capitol Hill and in the private sector, including stints with XO Communications Inc. and Allegiance Telecom Inc.

She joins Charter from the Joseph Group, where she was a consultant to technology and telecommunications companies on matters before Congress and the Federal Communications Commission.

Charter hasn't had a full-time Washington lobbyist since Marvin Rappaport, who left to join Mediacom Communications Corp. as vice president of government relations.

Delany is a 1997 graduate of the University of Richmond. She received her law degree from Catholic University of America in 2002.
