Charter Communications Inc. will begin rolling out TNT in HD, Turner Network Television’s high-definition feed, under terms of an agreement announced Wednesday.
Launch dates of the service will vary by market, the MSO said.
TNT in HD is broadcast in 1080i (interlaced) HD format 24 hours per day, using Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound and presenting all of its programming, including promotional content and commercials, in 16:9 wide-screen.
“TNT in HDis a quality addition to our high-definition lineup,” Charter senior vice president of programming Sue Ann Hamilton said in a prepared statement. “Customers who have purchased HD television sets are clamoring for more HD content. TNT in HDwill help us to respond to that customer demand.”
Turner Network Sales executive VP of sales and marketing Coleman Breland added, “We are pleased to partner with Charter Communications to further expand their HDTV package and enhance their customers’ viewing experience with the addition of TNT in HD’s extensive collection of top-rated content.”
