Charter Communications Inc. is moving its corporate marketing department, with 18 positions, from Denver back to its headquarters city of St. Louis, where new CEO Neil Smit works.
A chief marketing officer also will be based there once that position is filled.
As part of the shift, all department members have been offered the chance to relocate. Most had been in St. Louis before those functions moved to Denver under former CEO Carl Vogel, who lives in Denver and kept an office there, senior vice president of communications David Andersen said. The transfer, he added, is expected to be completed by year-end.
Other key Charter executives based in Denver -- including chief technical officer Wayne Davis, programming chief Sue Hamilton and sales-and-marketing chief Jim Heneghan -- are staying there, Andersen said. Video-product-management VP Barb Hedges has already moved back to St. Louis, according to Andersen.
