Charter Communications said Friday that it has named Allan Samson senior vice president of marketing. In his new role, Samson will be responsible for consumer and small to medium-sized business go-to-market business for the St. Louis-based MSO. He will report to executive vice president and chief marketing officer Ted Schremp.
Samson most recently served as senior vice president and chief sales and marketing officer for Birch Communications in Kansas City, Mo. Prior to that he was with SBC Communications, now AT&T. He received his B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Missouri-Columbia and an M.B.A. from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
Samson's appointment comes after a pair of new hires at Charter. In October it named telecom industry veteran Don Detampel executive vice president and president of commercial services and in November it named Christopher Winfrey as its new chief financial officer.
