Charter Communications Inc. is driving a big public-affairs effort in
response to the rescue of U.S. Army prisoner of war Jessica Lynch, who hails
from Palestine, W. Va.

Charter, the incumbent cable operator in the area, doesn't have Palestine
wired. But the MSO is thinking about extending its plant by one mile in order to
run cable to Lynch's home.

Charter, which taped a celebration service for Lynch at a local church, is
also running a one-hour commercial-free program that contains the
service.
