Chesney, Urban Join CMT Music Awards Lineup

Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes and Brooks & Dunn will perform at the upcoming CMT Music Awards schedule to air Monday, April 14 on the cable network and on, according to network officials.

The awards show will be hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus and his daughter, Miley, the star of the Disney Channel’s hit Hannah Montana.

More than 2 million votes were cast to determine the final four nominees in 13 different categories including “Duo Video of the Year,” “Best Performance of the Year” and “Tearjerker Video of the Year.”

Final nominees for the “Video of the Year” will be announced at the beginning of the live broadcast, giving viewers in the Eastern and Central time zones a chance to vote online to determine the winner of the show’s marquee award.

Brad Paisley and Sugarland, who are both scheduled perform during the telecast from Nashville’s Curb Event Center, led the nomination parade with four nods apiece. American Idol alumnae Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler joined Chesney, LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift and Trace Adkins with three nominations each.

Billy Ray Cyrus scored a nomination of his own in the “Tearjerker Video” category for his song “Ready, Set, Don’t Go.” The popular father-daughter duo will also perform during the telecast.

Fans can vote online through Friday, April 11 to pick the winners in each category.
