Chunghwa Lowers IPTV Estimates

Chunghwa Telecom Co. Ltd.,a large IPTV provider in China, is lowering its IPTV-subscriber expectation from 500,000 to 300,000 by year’s end, according to the Taipei Times.

The company counts 100,000 subscribers, but problems in securing enough content will curb growth, according to Chunghwa executives quoted in the paper.

Chunghwa offers 30 IPTV channels, compared with 100 offered by its competitors. “It is not easy to expand our customer base, as content really matters,” the paper quoted John Hsueh, vice president at Chunghwa, as saying.
