Cisco Systems announced Tuesday that it completed the acquisition of “selected assets” of privately held Ashley Laurent, an Austin, Texas-based developer of embedded security and networking software for home-networking equipment.
Cisco expects to incorporate Ashley Laurent’s software into its Linksys digital-subscriber-line gateways. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
The eight employees of Ashley Laurent, founded in 1992, will join Cisco’s Linksys Home Networking Business Unit, led by general manager Malachy Moynihan.
