Clearleap Inks Web-Video Deals For VOD Service

Clearleap, a startup pitching pay-TV providers on a Web-to-VOD service, has signed content-distribution deals with three online-video companies: Next New Networks, Revision3 and Blip.tv.

Clearleap's automated content-ingest, management and delivery system obtains content from the Web using an MRSS feed, then converts it into video files for distribution on VOD platforms.

Suwanee, Ga.-based Clearleap, founded in 2007, has received has raised $12.3 million from venture-capital firms Silicon Valley Bank, Trinity Ventures and Noro-Moseley. Former Time Warner Cable CTO Jim Chiddix also is an investor and adviser.

The company has not announced any customers yet, but according to CEO Braxton Jarratt its system has been up and running with several cable and IPTV providers.
