DirecTV Inc. has traded 'Big Mac' for 'The Rocket' as the pitchman for its
out-of-market Major League Baseball package.

The direct-broadcast satellite provider announced Wednesday that New York
Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens will succeed retired St. Louis Cardinals slugger
Mark McGwire as the spokesman for its 'MLB Extra Innings' package.

The six-time Cy Young Award winner will appear in cross-channel TV spots,
print advertisements and various direct-marketing vehicles throughout the 2002
campaign.

Additionally, Clemens will be the subject of interviews in monthly customer
titles MyDirecTV and DirecTV The Guide, as well as the show
DirecTV Sports This Week.

MLB Extra Innings will offer fans up to 35 out-of-market telecasts per week
during the 2002 regular season. Residential customers signing up before March 31
will pay $139 for the package, while those signing up later will pay $159.

DirecTV will televise a free preview for extant customers April 1 through 7
on channels 754 through 768.
