Clippers-Lakers: NBA TV's Most-Watched Telecast

The battle for Staples Center supremacy last Saturday night scored as the most-watched telecast in NBA TV history.

The pro basketball league's in-house service averaged 756,000 viewers on Jan. 14 with its coverage of the Los Clippers' 102-94 triumph over Staples co-tenant, the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Nielsen data.
The contest erased the Dec. 30, 2011 telecast of the Chicago Bulls-Clippers matchup, which drew 722,000 watchers, from the record books.

With the Jan. 17 "Fan Night" telecast, during which LeBron James's Miami Heat overwhelmed the San Antonio Spurs, posting up 675,000 viewers the most thus far for its Tuesday night showcase during the lockout-shortened 2011-12 NBA season, NBA TV has averaged 383,000 viewers, up 68%, and 293,000 households, a 70% increase, through Jan. 17, according to network officials.
