Country Music Television is already lighting sparks for the second
go-round of its Flameworthy Video Music Awards, which
launched this past June to a big audience.
Superstar Shania Twain has signed up to perform on the 2003 Flameworthy show, as will Kenny Chesney, who won two honors during the initial award cablecast.
The 2003 edition will run live April 7 from Nashville, Tenn., with host to be named later. Emmy Award-winning producer Carol Donovan -- involved previously with MTV: Music Television's Video Music Awards and the VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards -- will be executive producer of CMT's affair.
The first Flameworthy program,
where music fans select the winners in 12 categories, was seen by 6.3 million
households. More than 2.2 million votes were counted at CMT's Web site (http://www.cmt.com).
