CMT's Music Awards show hit the right chords both on screen and on the web.

The 2009 CMT Music Awards show drew 2.7 million viewers, the third best ever showing for the annual event, bested only by last year's Billy Ray Cyrus-Miley Cyrus-hosted event which drew 2.8 million viewers and the 2005 edition which pulled in 2.9 million viewers

The June 16 show, which featured performances by Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins, Taylor Swift and Sugarland, was the network's most-watched telecast of the year.

Following the awards, CMT's new series The Singing Bee debuted with 1.5 million viewers, making it the most-watched series debut in network history. The game show-based series, hosted by Melissa Peterman, tests the contestants' knowledge of lyrics to well-known songs.

On the Web, generated a record 1 million single-day streams the day after the show, with Swift and rapper T-Pain's Thug Story music video - which premiered during the CMT Awards Show -- topping the most streams for the day.

Also, a record 7.5 million votes were cast online for this year's CMT Music Awards, up 45% from last year's 5 million.
