CMT Orders Pair Of Southern Reality Shows

CMT is going south for the subjects of a pair of upcoming reality series.
The network has ordered eight episodes apiece of romance skein Sweet Home Alabama and Texas Women, which tracks the lives of four feisty ladies from Fort Worth. The series will premiere back-to-back on July 14 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) and 10 p.m., respectively.
"Texas Women follows the rollercoaster ride of four of the Lonestar State's most endearing and high-spirited women as they blaze their own path on the search for love, happiness and a lot of fun," said Jayson Dinsmore, CMT executive vice president of development Jayson Dinsmore in announcing the series."Sweet Home Alabama is the ultimate test of big city vs. down-home as a group of city slickers and country boys fight for the heart of a gorgeous Southern Belle on her home turf. CMT's viewers are going to laugh with, cry with and root for these very relatable women as they search for their own slice of the American dream."
In Sweet Home Alabama, produced by Glassman Media, 10 "city slickers" and 10 "country" guys will vie for the affections of Devin Grissom, a sweet southern girl from Alabama. To win her heart, the bachelors from across the country compete in challenges to win time with this belle. In each one-hour episode, Devin says goodbye to more of her suitors in the hopes of finding her true love and someone her family approves
As for the high-spirited characters from the great state of Texas, the series from 3Ball Entertainment focuses on this quartet: outspoken blonde bombshell, Anna Hunt who is as strong-willed as the bucking bulls she raises as a stock contractor; Ali Dee, an aspiring country music singer and TV host for the NBA champion Dallas Mavericks, lives with her boyfriend Cory Melton, a champion bull rider; "Hurricane Hannah" Helvey, who rooms with Hunt, is a trust-fund baby accustomed to getting what she wants; and Brooke Jeter, a professional barrel racer and part-time housewife is married to professional bronc rider Jason Jeter. Sporting a quick tongue sans filter, she still loves to party.
