CN8 Taps Traynham As DC Bureau Chief

CN8, The Comcast Network, has hired Robert Traynham as its Washington D.C. bureau chief.

Starting Oct. 8, Traynham, whose background is in political communications and public service, will report from CN8's state-of-the-art Capitol Hill studio and other D.C.-based events delivering news and insider interviews for the network’s original morning and issues-oriented programming. In his new job, Traynham will be a regular contributor to CN8's Your Morning, It's Your Call with Lynn Doyle, Art Fennell Reports and Larry Kane: Voice of Reason.

He will also support CN8's D.C.-based coverage of  “America's Next President,” the network's most expansive political coverage initiative to date, which will track all of the major events and news leading up to and surrounding the 2008 presidential election.

Prior to joining CN8, which counts some 9 million subscribers in a dozen eastern states, he worked for 10 years in the United States Senate. He also served as president of the United States Senate Press Secretaries Association, a bipartisan group of Senate Communicators. Most recently Traynham has served in senior communications positions with presidential and senatorial campaigns.

“We are excited to welcome Robert to the CN8 team and are confident that his industry expertise and experience will further bolster CN8's political coverage during this historic election year,” said CN8 vice president and general manager Jon Gorchow in a statement. “Robert's newly created role is a testament to CN8's focus on and commitment to Washington, D.C., and delivers on our mission to provide exclusive, comprehensive political content that is national in scope and local in impact.”
