CN8 Turns Eight

CN8, The Comcast Network will celebrate its eight-year anniversary with an event Wednesday in Philadelphia.

The Comcast Corp.-owned regional network will gather executives, program hosts and more than 300 employees and programming partners for a look back and ahead at CN8's “pioneering efforts in regional cable television,” the network said.

“In 1996, we launched CN8 as a television platform to make national issues relevant to a regional audience," Comcast Cable Communications Inc. Eastern-division president and CN8 founder Michael Doyle said in a prepared statement.

"In doing so, we created an entirely new genre and network model that showcases original programming, award-winning hosts and uncensored interviews unavailable elsewhere,” Doyle added. “CN8 has effectively filled a void left by the networks for smart, entertaining and informative programming relevant to the regions in which we live and work.”
