CNBC, Fox Join Apple TV Lineup

The Apple TV has expanded its lineup with the addition of authenticated plug-ins for FOX NOW and CNBC.

According to 9to5 Mac, the CNBC offering delivers the network’s live stream and on-demand access to several previously-aired shows, while FOX NOW offers full episodes from shows such as American Idol, Glee, Family Guy, and The Following, among others, the day after they air. Non-credentialed users also have access to a subset of content, including clips and a limited number of full episodes, from both programmers via the Apple TV device.

Apple TV has also added to its lineup Esporte Interativo, a sports channel based in Brazil, and TV 2 Sumo, a sports network offered in Norway.

Other programmers that have launched support for the Apple TV device include History, Lifetime, ACC Digital Network, The Weather Channel, PBS, ESPN, Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior, and HBO, among others.

In April, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the company had sold about 20 million Apple TV units and that the product brought in more than $1 billion in 2013.
