CNBC unsurprisingly has ordered a second season of prize primetime program Jay Leno's Garage. The show -- which gives the former Tonight Show host free rein to feed his appetite for all things automotive -- concluded its first season last night with the best viewing numbers of any freshman show in the business-news networks primetime lineup. The 12 new hour-long episodes will kick off in spring 2016. It debuted in October by amassing 1.159 million total viewers and 388,000 in the 25-54 demo over its 10 p.m. ET and PT airings. Overall it averaged 598,000 total viewers and 226,000 in the P25-54 category.
In a release, CNBC said the show helped put CNBC on pace to deliver its 8th consecutive quarter of year-over-year ratings growth in primetime.
“We are really excited to be picked up for another season,” Leno said in the release. “We have a lot of great things planned. It will be a wild ride.”
