CNN Monday announced that its cost- and commercial-free educational program for middle and high schools, CNN Student News, will provide a free online guide for parents to accompany the remaining documentaries in its groundbreaking Black in America series.

Black in America: The Black Woman & Family airs Wednesday, July 23 at 9 p.m. ET and Black in America: The Black Man will be shown Thursday, July 24 at 9 p.m. ET.

Parents can go to the Black in America section on the network’s Web site to download the companion guide. Network officials said it consists of several activities, including recommended pre-viewing and post-viewing discussion questions, to spur constructive dialogue on the topics covered in The Black Woman & Family and The Black Man.

Black in America, reported by anchor and special correspondent Soledad O’Brien (pictured) examines often under-reported stories of the African-American experience, including fresh analysis from new voices about the real lives behind the stereotypes and statistics that frequently frame the national dialogue about Black America.
