CNN International has gained exclusive first international broadcast rights
for Home Box Office's acclaimed Sept. 11 documentary, In Memoriam: New York
Beginning in mid-June and running through the end of the month, the
documentary will air commercial-free on CNN International, which is seen in more
than 170 million households in more than 210 countries and territories around
Deal terms were not disclosed. Both CNN International and HBO are owned by
AOL Time Warner Inc.
Produced by Brad Grey Pictures and HBO, the film presents a unique historical
record of that tragic day as seen through the eyes of former New York Mayor
Rudolph W. Giuliani and citizens in and around New York.
'In my 22 years at HBO, I've never been prouder of any piece of programming
we've produced,' HBO chairman and CEO Jeff Bewkes said in a prepared statement.
'With the help of CNN International, we're able to extend the reach of the
documentary and deliver it to a worldwide audience.'

of Sept. 11 and its aftermath into sharper focus,' CNN News Group chairman and
