Cable News Network's CNN Newsroom -- the daily commercial-free
news/features program designed for use in the classroom by Turner Learning --
has been renamed CNN Student News.

Targeting middle- and high-school students and their
teachers, the half-hour show airs weekdays at 4:30 a.m. on CNN, as well as
online at www.cnnstudentnews.com

(formerly
cnnfyi.com).

The Web site also offers a daily classroom guide for teachers. Content is
produced by CNN staffers and features contributions from students.

Turner Learning vice president of marketing Mark Stevens said that in order
to facilitate use in the classroom, the program now will be divided into two
15-minute segments:

'CNN Student News,' with top news from CNN, and 'CNN Student News
Perspectives,' with staff features and reports from CNN Student Bureau schools
nationally.

In addition, specials due this year will focus on such
topics as Africa and 'CNN Student Bureau International Week' (in January);
slavery and The Trumpet Awards (February); insects and the Incas (March); and
oceans (April).
