New York— Turner Network Sales is running a consumer sweepstakes for sister company Time Warner Cable that will award seven of the MSO’s subscribers a trip to meet Cable News Network anchor Anderson Cooper here.
The promotion, kicking off today (June 6) and running through June 26, is designed to promote the one-hour program Anderson Cooper 360, which CNN strips weeknights at 7 p.m.
Turner said it will pick seven regional sweepstakes winners for the promotion. In addition to round-trip airfare for two, a private sedan to and from the airport, three nights at a hotel and two tickets to a Broadway show, the sweepstakes winners will get a tour of the CNN studio at Time Warner Center and a lunch meeting with Cooper.
Consumers can enter the sweepstakes online. They’ll also be able to pick up entry forms at some sponsor locations.
A Turner Network Sales spokeswoman said CNN will expand the Cooper promotion to cable systems owned by MSOs other than Time Warner during the fourth quarter. Systems must have at least 30,000 subscribers in order to participate.
Turner has run similar programs in the past. Last year, one involved Cooper and fellow CNN anchor Paula Zahn, as well as a promotion for the news network’s American Morning program that highlighted anchors Soledad O’Brien and Bill Hemmer.
