CNN to Launch Six New Series

CNN will launch six new original series in 2019 including a health-themed show with Sanjay Gupta and a profile of Detroit during the mid 1960s, the network said Wednesday (April 11).

The new shows include Chasing Life With Sanjay Gupta, a six-part series that follows the famed doctor as he searches for the secret to living longer, healthier and happier; Tricky Dick, a four-part series that explores Richard Nixon’s life and times; and American Dynasties: The Bushes, which explores the Bush family’s complex internal dynamics.

Also on the docket is American Style, a four-part series that examines the most iconic moments in fashion, history and pop culture; Once in a Great City: Detroit 1962-64, which examines the city’s glory years with the success of its auto industry and the Motown music company; and The Redemption Project, an eight part series which follows the victims and/or surviving family members of a life-altering crime.

The series will join recently renewed shows Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown, United Shades of America With W. Kamau Bell, This is Life With Lisa Ling, and The History of Comedy onCNN's lineup, said the network.
