CNN's Anderson Cooper Scores First Donald Sterling Interview

CNN will air the first interview with troubled Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling. on Monday night.

Sterling's conversation with Anderson Cooper, is scheduled to run May 12 on AC360 at 8 p.m. It marks Sterling's initial public remarks since he was caught on tape making racist comments to V. Stiviano.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver banned the longtime Clipper from any association with the team or the league for life, after TMZ aired a racially charged 10-minute audio recording of his racially charged talk with Stiviano.

The league is also moving toward stripping Sterling's ownership of the team, while his wife Sherry says she has no intention of relinquishing her stake in the franchise.

On Friday, the NBA appointed former Time Warner chairman and CEO Dick Parsons as interim CEO.

On Sunday, the Clippers staged a furious fourth-quarter rally to tie their Western Conference semifinal series at two games apiece.

"I'm a good member who made a mistake and I'm apologizing and I'm asking for forgiveness," Sterling said in his interview with Cooper. "Am I entitled to one mistake, am I after 35 years? I mean, I love my league, I love my partners. Am I entitled to one mistake? It's a terrible mistake, and I'll never do it again."
