Comcast Adds VeneMovies

Comcast launched a Spanish-language film channel from Venevision International on its CableLatino Hispanic-programming package Wednesday.

Venevision, part of the Cisneros Group, called VeneMovies “the first full-featured Spanish-language film channel ever offered in the United States.”

The MSO currently offers its CableLatino package in more than 15 markets including Miami; the San Francisco Bay area and central California; Boston; Chicago; Philadelphia; central and northern New Jersey; and Albuquerque, N.M.

The network airs films from Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Venezuela, Spain and the rest of the Spanish-speaking world.

VeneMovies will add English subtitles for all of its movies in the coming weeks, as well as 20 hours of video-on-demand programming per month for the MSO’s Comcast On Demand en Español service.
