Comcast Brings HDTV to Oregon, Washington

Comcast Corp. will offer HDTV service to more than 550,000 subscribers in Oregon and southwest Washington, the MSO said Wednesday.

Subscribers with HD-capable sets must pay a one-time upgrade charge of $15.99 and a $5 monthly fee to receive HD signals through converter boxes provided by the operator.

The MSO has not yet signed deals with all broadcasters in the area.
