Comcast Cleared in Baltimore Investigation

An investigation of possible corruption by Baltimore City Council officials has ended with no charges filed, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

As part of the investigation, the AG's office subpoenaed records from Comcast Corp. to determine if any improper gifts were given to local lawmakers. But that was just a fraction of the investigation: Law enforcement requested five years’ worth of financial records from councilmembers, as well as data from other vendors and retired council members.

A statement from the AG’s office late March 18 said it investigated various practices of the Baltimore City Council and concluded that the evidence to date “does not support a successful prosecution."
