Comcast.com (www.comcast.com) began showing off the results of its facelift Thursday.
The MSO said that for the first time, surfers can use Flash-based virtual demonstrations to interact with Comcast products and services.
The site’s new interface directs visitors to three specific channels: Learn, Customers and Shop.
Learn show’s off the cable operator’s product offerings -- Comcast Digital Cable with On Demand, HD programming and digital-video-recorder service; Comcast High-Speed Internet; and Comcast Digital Voice -- through interactive, rich media demonstrations with full-motion video and sound.
Customers provides direct access to online bill paying and account management, manuals, demos, installation assistance and around-the-clock support services.
And Shop allows customers to view all available services and packages, accompanied by related information and prices, and sign up for service.
“We wanted the new site to be convenient and fully interactive to mirror the entertainment experience for which our products are known," Comcast senior vice president of sales and marketing Marvin Davis said in a prepared statement. "We're very pleased with customer feedback to date, which has been overwhelmingly positive. Comcast.com was already garnering more than 5 million unique visitors per month, and we anticipate that the new site will attract even more visitors.”
