Comcast Donates $25K to El Centro

The Comcast Foundation's Comcast Reading Network has donated $25,000 to El Centro de la Raza, Comcast Corp. said Thursday.

The grant will be used “to fund a program that uses poetry to develop literacy and enhance creative thinking and writing skills for Seattle-area youth,” the MSO said in a prepared statement.

El Centro de la Raza is located in Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood, where it provides services for low-income area residents.

The Comcast Foundation, founded by the company in June 1999, is its chief source of charitable support to qualified nonprofit organizations.
