Comcast Gets Philly in ‘Local’ Motion

Comcast Corp. wants Philadelphia-area subscribers to "Get Local" with its latest On Demand programming offer, which launched Wednesday.

Get Local provides viewers with up-to-the-minute, concise programming highlights of local news, sports, weather, business and entertainment important to the Philadelphia region.

These video vignettes will be produced by CN8, The Comcast Network, and hosted by CN8 Emmy Award-winning personalities including Lynn Doyle, Lou Tilley, Arthur Fennell and Connie Colla.

Get Local is available at no additional cost to Comcast On Demand customers.

In related news, CN8 will air the first debate between Philadelphia mayoral candidates Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. EST.

The Comcast-owned regional network will have Arthur Fennell -- past president of the National Association of Black Journalists and recent member of Ebony
magazine's "Top 100 Influential African Americans in the Country" -- moderate the debate between Democratic Mayor John F. Street and Republican challenger Samuel Katz.
