The Comcast Foundation donated $1 million toward a new $10 million fund-raising campaign at The Cable Center in Denver, the center said.
Cable Center chairman Bill Bresnan, head of Bresnan Communications, offered to match any donation of $50,000-$500,000 to The Chairman’s Campaign, the center also said. The money is intended to create a self-sustaining operational endowment to enhance the nonprofit center’s activities as an educational resource about cable and telecommunications.
"These programs reach out to universities and industry members nationwide and, with the Chairman's Campaign, we hope to grow this outreach,” Bresnan said in a news release.
The video tower in the center’s Daniels Great Hall will be named for Comcast, which makes charitable contributions via its foundation.
